Faculty Forum Online with MIT Professor Andrea Louise Campbell

Event Description - Faculty Forum Online with MIT Professor Andrea Louise Campbell
Impact of the Presidential Election on Tax and Health Policy

In politics as in comedy, timing is everything – and, are we in luck!!! The first of the US presidential debates is on the same evening as the first Faculty Forum Online interview, which will delve into substantial election issues.

Barack Obama and Mitt Romney present sharply different visions about the role of government in the United States, particularly in tax policy and health policy. Andrea Louise Campbell, professor of political science, will discuss the implications that the presidential election will have on these issues and take questions from the worldwide MIT community via video chat on Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012, from noon-12:30 p.m. (EDT).

Campbell—whose research also concerns Social Security, Medicare, and health insurance—will offer insight into each candidate’s proposed policies and discuss historical and current survey results on American public opinion on taxes.
